Several Young Guys Who Work In Construction Manifest Excessive And Irresponsible Drinking And Need Alcohol Treatment
I work with several young men who work in construction who exhibit heavy and irresponsible drinking. After working exceptionally hard for eight or more hours, it seems so "right" to go to the local watering hole to have a few brews with one's drinking buddies. Regularly, however, it seems that the well-intentioned few brews becomes a predicament in which quite a few drinks are ingested, much money is spent, and quite a few hours are spent at the local tavern rather than spending time with their friends, wife or girlfriend, or with their family.
How rough can it be for my hard working buddies to grasp the fact that abusive and excessive drinking commonly leads to friendship, marital, and relationship difficulties? Why are these alcoholism and alcohol abuse signs so difficult for my hard working pals to see?
Does it in point of fact flabbergast anybody to realize that these hard working men eventually complain about alcohol-related health issues such as hangovers, alcohol poisoning, a loss of energy, and sleep disturbances? Is it in point of fact shocking that many of these hard working men are beginning to have a variety of mental health difficulties such as depression? Why can't my hard working friends "see" these alcohol abuse and alcoholism signs?
Concerning the drinking problems manifested by these hard working men, the point to highlight is that honesty is necessary. Indeed, these hard working guys, not that much different than others who involve themselves abusive and excessive drinking, need to look at their behavior and make an honest appraisal of what abusive and heavy drinking is doing to their finances, to their relationships, to their health, to their jobs, and to their mental health. In a word, these hard working guys need to understand the signs of alcoholism and alcohol abuse exhibited by their abusive and excessive drinking.
My hard working friends need to get motivated and inspired about wanting to make a constructive change in their lives. More to the point, these hard working men need to get motivated to go to their healthcare practitioner or to the local alcohol counseling clinic and determine whether or not they are essentially abusing alcohol or if they are dependent on alcohol. Based on their findings, my hard working friends then need to get the alcohol rehabilitation and the alcohol detox treatment they need.
The positive news is that there's a wide variety of treatment centers, rehabilitation facilities, hospitals, rehab programs, and drug and alcohol treatment clinics where my hard working buddies can get first-rate treatment for their abusive and hazardous drinking. And with some effort, it is feasible to find rehab programs, treatment centers, hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, and drug and alcohol treatment clinics that are relatively inexpensive.
There were without a doubt times in the past when professional rehab for alcohol abuse or alcohol dependency was more expensive and far less available that it is now. Because of the proliferation of alcohol addiction and alcohol abuse in the past two decades, however, an alcohol dependent individual or an alcohol abuser often has few, if any, legitimate reasons for failing to come to terms with his or her abusive and hazardous drinking.
In fact, to begin the change process all it frequently takes is a phone call to one's physician or to someone at the local alcohol counseling clinic. From that point forward, lasting sobriety necessitates commitment, follow through, and an honest desire to change one's unhealthy style of life.
