Consider A Pasta Maker Machine To Produce Your Own Fresh Pasta

Creating fresh pasta isn't as tricky as you may possibly imagine, and the end product is simply amazing, incomparable to the stuff you likely usually get in the neighborhood store. Whilst it's possible to produce fresh pasta without the benefit of a pasta maker machine, it can be quite hard work and the result, unless you're a professional, may not be very good. Pasta makers can be purchased in 2 main varieties - the manual hand-crack type and electric, both types do in essence perform the same function, though an automatic device is faster and much easier to use and might have extra features.

A traditional pasta recipe comprises nothing other than a few simply ingredients: flour (normally durum wheat or semolina), egg, salt, olive oil and water. The ingredients are mixed with each other, by hand in a bowl or using food processor, up to the point the necessary consistency is reached - if it is getting too tacky then you need to add some more flour; if it's too dry then you'll want to add a touch more water. Now, after you've let the dough rest a short while, you will have to knead the pasta dough for approximately 5 minutes. Now's the time to get out your pasta maker machine. Regardless of which style of pasta maker you opt for, the method is more or less the same.

You set the machine to the thickest option and roll out the dough by pulling it through the device three or four times - if you have a manual design then you have got to crank the handle to do this; an automatic unit will do all the hard work for you. Next you adjust the machine once more, selecting the next lowest thickness, and put the pasta dough through three times more. The operation is repeated until you end up with a thin sheet of pasta. Then you need to cut it to the required length. At this moment the 2nd function of the pasta maker machine comes into play. All the machines include a pasta cutter to cut the pasta dough into strips. Merely pick the size you need and put the sheets through the pasta cutter. That's all you need to do! Simply leave the completed pasta for an hour or so to dry - a pasta drying rack will help with this bit - and it's ready to cook.
