Adopting A Pet Means More Than Solely Bringing It Home - It Is A Large Commitment! Are You Ready?
Are you're responsible pet owner? The billions of us that own pets believe that we can truthfully say yes to this question. However most of us don't support the humane civilization or the local animal shelter by adopting animals from the programs. This is the responsible thing to do as a house-pet owner.
I'm not suggesting that every house-pet owner needs to go adopt a pet from the shelter, but a fiscal donation is a fantastic way to insure that these programs can keep going. Also if you're a house-pet owner that breeds your pet, make sure that the individuals who adopt a pet from you're going to be responsible and will provide a good home to the animal. For example, if it has a problem like too much barking, what's the plan? Behavior modification? An anti bark collar?
On occasion this might be hard. When our canine had puppies we had to deny one couple from buying one of the pups. We have Labrador Retrievers. This is a good example of a breed that may necessitate an anti bark collar because of a barking training issue. They usually have very large litters. Our canine had 12 pups that we needed to find homes for. My husband is a hunter & our dogs are whistle and hand-trained, so there were many hunters that had requested a pup prior to the litter arriving. However because she had such a big litter we had two puppies that weren't spoken for. We ran an ad in a weekly sports-men's paper that we would take applications from people that wanted to adopt a pet. We had developed a questionnaire that we used as an application. The questionnaire asks how much time a day the animal would be by myself, how many hours the owner needed to exercise the animal and how often they normally take their animals to the vet.
A number of individuals think that this is a bizarre form to fill out, but we feel that we have a responsibility to the breed to make sure that the people who are going to own the dogs are going to take great care of them. We check out each person that wants to adopt a house-pet from us. We want to make sure that the animal is getting medical care, like you'd seek should training resources like an anti bark collar not be effective, good food and exercise. We also wish to make sure that the animal is spayed or neutered if the owner isn't going to be responsible in researching the breeding lines. The retriever breed is very common so it is important to keep healthy blood lines for those among us that want pure breeds. Because of the number of retrievers that are available some breeders are trying to breed specialty lines in regards to color or capabilities, such as pointing. This can cause blood-lines that are too close which results in dogs that have high medical needs. Our procedure of asking questions to the people that wish to adopt a pet from us isn't going to make a massive difference, but at least we feel we are not adding to the problem of weakening the breed.

If You're Looking For An Answer For Your Pet's Barking, Then Anti Barking Dog Collars May Be The Solution
When I heard that there was a device known as anti-bark collars, I thought that it had to be a joke. I was really shocked that such things even exist. I always thought that a dog's bark was a good thing specifically if the pup is supposed to help protect the house.
