A Television Program About Alcoholic Signs Results In Dismal Feelings About A Lady's Hazardous Drinking

Sharon had been involved in irresponsible drinking behavior since her junior year in college. Now, ten years later, she drank more than ever. One Tuesday night when she was feeling queasy, Sharon decided to stay home, unwind, and watch TV. While trying to find something to watch that she would find interesting, she instantaneously became fascinated with a program about teen and young adult drinking problems.

The speaker defined the difference between alcoholism and alcohol abuse and then got into the topic of alcoholic symptoms and alcoholic behavior. When the spokesperson went into detail about a person's symptoms of withdrawal and some of the more normal alcoholism signs and symptoms that alcohol dependent people reveal, Sharon got quite concerned because it virtually seemed as if the spokesperson was talking specifically to her.

After watching the TV documentary, Sharon promised herself that she would telephone her doctor the next business day and make an appointment to discuss her careless and excessive drinking.

When the next business day arrived, true to her word, Sharon called her health care provider and made an appointment. While she was waiting for the day of her appointment to arrive, she went online and did a search for alcoholism symptoms. Especially noteworthy were the following signs or symptoms: sleep problems, increasing irritability, sneaking extra drinks before social events, making excuses to drink at virtually every opportunity, and serious relationship and work-related problems.

Simply stated, since Sharon exhibited all of these signs she went deeper in her online search and found quite a lot of websites and blogs that highlighted various alcohol addiction warning signs and symptoms. One of the symptoms that really took hold of her interest was the following: "Do you frequently drink after making a promise to yourself that you won't?"

Another alcoholism symptom that caught her curiosity was the following: "Have people bothered you by denouncing your irresponsible and hazardous drinking?" A third alcoholic symptom was the following: "Do you want a drink when you first awaken in the morning?"

The final alcoholism warning symptom that made her feel rather on edge about her drinking problems was the following: "Has your motivation diminished since you started drinking on a regular basis?" When Sharon read this sign she plainly realized that drinking had become a serious difficulty in her life because of her lack of energy and also because she quit pursuing her goals and her passions.

After thinking about all of these unhealthy alcohol addiction signs and symptoms, Sharon at first felt disheartened. Then something strange but wonderful came about. She reflected on the fact knew that she was going to see her health care provider about her drinking problems and she also knew that she would discuss her alcohol addiction warning signs and symptoms.

In truth, for the first time in a number of months, Sharon sincerely felt a sense of hope because she was addressing her drinking problems and was at last ready to make the needed adjustments so that she could reclaim the life that was drifting away.
